called, Sit ‘n Be Fit is offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30
a.m. Chairs are put out for everyone and a variety of exercises are done while
sitting. Hand weights, stretchy bands and bouncing balls are incorporated into
the routine. Some exercises are also done while standing, but a chair is always
there for support if needed. A group of women also come in at that time to play
some friendly rounds of 8-ball pool. They have a good time socializing. At
10:30 a.m. after the exercise class, a line dancing class takes place. They do
some good boot scooting to country tunes. In the afternoon, bridge players
arrive around 12:30 a.m. along with canasta card players and pool/snooker
players.
Tuesday, Aug. 30 – If you would like a faster
paced exercise class, you should try the “Zumba with Angie” class. It is a fast
paced dance/exercise class done to Latin American music that makes you want to
move. It is offered at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please wear good
sturdy shoes. No slide on types allowed. In the afternoon, games are played
that include; canasta, duplicate bridge, pool/snooker, and jig-saw puzzle
solving. Exercise equipment which includes exercise bikes, and a weight set are
available for use during the afternoon, too. Bingo is played at 2:00 p.m. It is
a lot of laughs and everyone wins a prize! We always have a jig saw puzzle out,
for all the puzzlers.
Wednesday, Aug. 31 – Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
and it is time to exercise again in the Sit ‘n Be Fit exercise class. Also,
women pool players arrive ready to play some more 8-ball pool games. After the
exercise class, at 10:30 a.m. line dancers start kicking up their heels as they
keep time with the swinging tunes. During the afternoon, games of canasta, and
other card games are played. And don’t forget at 2:00 p.m. we celebrate August
birthdays with cake and ice cream.
