Stillwater Senior Activity Center Invites you to Participate


Come check out the Senior Center. We offer many fun activities for senior citizens aged 50 and over. We have Social and Duplicate Bridge, Pool and Snooker, Exercise classes, Line Dancing, Zumba, Bingo, and a Painting class. On the 2nd & 4th Thursday from 6 - 8:30 p.m. we have an evening of music with country tunes performed by several musicians. Exercise equipment also available includes an exercise bike, a treadmill, and a weight set for use in the afternoons. A walking trail is located outside the building in Couch Park. Regular hours at the Senior Center are Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The Center is closed on weekends. Stop by 1015 E. 12th Ave. or call 405-747-8080 for more information and make sure to pick up a calendar of events.

The AARP preparers are at the library Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 1 - 4 p.m. They will be there through April 17.
Monday, April 9 – Join the Sit n’ Be Fit exercise class offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings starting at 9:30 a.m. In the exercise class some exercises are done from chairs and some are done while standing close to the chairs for support. There are also stretchy bands & fitness balls to test flexibility and coordination. You can also get some exercise while walking and stretching around the pool tables during women’s 8-ball pool playing. The women pool players play several friendly rounds of 8-ball.They would like for new players to come join them and experience the fun. Like to line dance? Line up to do some boot scootin’ boogie across the floor starting at 10:30 a.m. A good sturdy shoe or boot is a safety requirement. At 1 p.m. canasta, social bridge, pool and snooker are played. Also, check out the jig-saw puzzle table and test your puzzle solving skills.
Tuesday, April 10 – The ‘Zumba with Angie’ class offers a quick paced exercise/dance routine. It is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The routines are done to a faster moving type of music, so good sturdy shoes are required for all the quick stepping. No backless, slide on types of shoes are allowed. Afternoon games include: duplicate bridge, canasta and pool & snooker. Most cards games begin at 1 p.m., except for duplicate bridge which starts at 12 p.m. Two rounds of bingo are called at 2 p.m. It is a fun time and everybody wins a prize!

Thursday, April 12 – Bring your guitar and join the guitar lessons held every Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. it is time to Zumba again. Class members move with Angie and work on their steps to Latin American music. At 1 p.m. Canasta, Bridge and Pool fun begins. Exciting games of bingo begin at 2 p.m. Music Night Tonight 6 – 8:30p.m.
Friday, April 13 – Sit n’ Be Fit exercises and women’s pool starts the day. Art class begins at 9:30 a.m. The artists bring in their art supplies and share their ideas and skills with each other. The painting class time continues into the afternoon to accommodate additional artists and give their paint time to dry. Line dancing begins at 10:30 a.m. Duplicate Bridge begins at 12 p.m. and Canasta card players come in around 1 p.m. Pool and Snooker games take place through the afternoon. The puzzle table is always waiting for someone to stop by and find a way to complete it.
Social Bridge winners were: 1st place – Cindy Smith, 2nd place – Sally Simmons. Tuesday’s Duplicate Bridge winners were: 1st place – Al Perry & Lionel Raff, 2nd place – Carl Provence & Betty Lowrey. Friday’s Duplicate Bridge winners were: 1st place – Al Perry & Lionel Raff, 2nd place - Carl Provence & Norma Burk.

Come check out the Senior Center, it offers many fun activities for senior citizens aged 50 and over, such as; card games, social and duplicate bridge, pool and snooker, exercise classes, line dancing, Zumba, Bingo, a painting class, and an evening of music with country tunes performed by several musicians. Exercise equipment that includes an exercise bike, a treadmill, and a weight set are available for use in the afternoons. Also, a walking trail is located right outside by the Center, in Couch Park. The public is invited and reservations are not required. The City of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will host a City Councilors Office Hours session Wednesday, March 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Senior Center participants and city residents are invited to come and meet with the councilors and share their thoughts about the City of Stillwater.  This is a come and go session and all residents are welcome. The Center offers many fun activities for senior citizens aged 50 and over, such as; card games, social and duplicate bridge, pool and snooker, exercise classes, line dancing, Zumba, Bingo, a painting class, and an evening of music with country tunes performed by several musicians.
