Monday, Nov. 14 – Start getting in shape for the upcoming holidays by joining the free exercise class called Sit ‘n Be Fit. This class is offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30 a.m. You can get a good workout of stretching and toning exercises. Chairs are used for some of the exercises so you always have something there for support if needed. Bouncing balls, stretchy bands, and sponge balls are all utilized in the 45 minute routine. Also, at 9:30 a.m. women 8-ball pool players get together for some fun competition. They welcome new players to join in the fun. After the exercise class at 10:30 a.m., line-dancers get together to do some boot scootin’ to some country music. In the afternoon at 1:00 p.m. canasta and social bridge players arrive ready to try their hands with the cards, hoping for a win. If you would like to play social bridge and have not played here before, please call the Center ahead of time so the number of places at each table can be arranged. A jig saw puzzle is always out ready for a piece to be found.
Tuesday, Nov. 15 – Another exercise class to check out that will get you an even better workout is the “Zumba with Angie” class. This class meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. It is a quick moving dance/exercise class done to mostly Latin American music. Please wear good sturdy shoes for all the quick stepping. No slide on types allowed. In the afternoon, games played include; canasta, duplicate bridge, pool/snooker, and jig-saw puzzle solving. Most card games start around 1:00 p.m. except for duplicate bridge which starts at 12:15 p.m. New players of duplicate bridge should call the Center ahead of time to make arrangements. Duplicate bridge is played with a partner. Exercise equipment that includes exercise bikes, and a weight set are available for use during the afternoon, too.
