Monday, Feb. 27 - An exercise class, called
Sit ‘n Be Fit, is offered free of charge every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at
9:30 a.m. Everyone has a chair for support while working on a routine of
stretching and coordination testing exercises. Stretchy bands and bouncing
balls are utilized in to the regular exercises. Also, women’s pool is going on
at that time. Several rounds of 8-ball pool are played during the morning. After
exercise class at 10:30 a.m., line dancers arrive ready to boot scoot across
the floor to some swinging country tunes. Afternoon brings in the card players.
Canasta and bridge are played along with pool and snooker.
Tuesday, Feb. 28 – “Zumba with Angie” is
another free exercise class worth checking out every Tuesday and Thursdays at
10:30 a.m. You will get a very good workout with the quick moving steps done mostly
to Latin American music. Please wear good sturdy shoes for all the quick
stepping. No slide on shoes allowed. In the afternoon, games include canasta, duplicate
bridge, and pool/snooker. Most card games start around 1 p.m. except for
duplicate bridge which starts at 12:15 p.m. New duplicate bridge players should
call the Center ahead of time to make arrangements. Duplicate bridge is played
with a partner. Exercise equipment that includes exercise bikes, a treadmill, and
a weight set are available for use in the afternoon. Bingo is played at 2 p.m. It’s
a lot of laughs and everyone wins a prize! We always have a jig saw puzzle out
too, for all the puzzlers.
