Stillwater Senior Activity Center will also be closed.
Monday, Dec. 8 – The month of December is a
good time to start some exercise. Get out of the house and work off all those
holiday calories by attending the free Sit ‘n Be Fit exercise class offered at
the Center every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. The reason
for the name, Sit ‘n Be Fit, is because everyone has a chair to use for some
sitting and stretching exercises and to use for stability while also doing some
standing, limbering up exercises. Stretching bands, rubber bouncing balls, sponge
balls, and wooden dowel sticks are all used for various exercises that help
with your coordination and flexibility. Or, if exercise is not for you, there
is women’s pool playing time and a painting/crafting class that meets at the
same time of morning. The women pool players play several rounds of 8-ball
while enjoying the social time with each other. The painting/crafting class
gets together to share their creative ideas. You can bring your art supplies or
a craft project and join the good time. Also, at 10:30 a.m. seniors can come
try their footwork out to some country music during the line dancing class.
Beginners to more advance dancers are all welcome. They have a good and
invigorating time. Later, during the afternoon games of bridge, canasta, pool/snooker,
and jig saw puzzle solving are popular.
Tuesday, Dec. 9 – It is almost like you are in
a real bowling alley while playing the Wii bowling game. It is a fun and
popular activity to participate in on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
Then at 10:30 a.m. you can get some energetic exercise in the Zumba class. Afternoon
games include; canasta, duplicate bridge, dominoes, and jig-saw puzzle solving.
Exercise equipment that includes a treadmill, two exercise bikes, and a weight
set are available for use, too. Bingo is played at 2:00 p.m. It is a lot of
laughs and everyone gets a prize!
Wednesday, Dec. 10 – The Sit ‘n Be Fit exercise
group meets up again at 9:30 a.m. Then at 10:30 a.m. line dancers start kicking
up their heels to some swinging country tunes. In the afternoon, games of
canasta and other card games are played, and also pool and snooker. At 1:00
p.m. a coed 8-ball pool tournament will be held. Women are encouraged to
participate. Don’t let the men have all the fun! An afternoon movie is shown at
2:00 p.m. The movie for this week is, “If I Stay.”
Thursday, Dec. 11 – Thursday mornings it is
time for Wii bowling or free guitar lessons at 9:30 a.m. Then at 10:30 a.m. you
can Zumba with Angie. This is an aerobic dance workout done to mostly American
Latin type music. This exercise will surely eat up the calories and there is no
charge for the class. In the afternoon, canasta, bridge, other card games, and
pool and snooker are played. At 2:00 p.m. bingo is played with a guest caller
and everyone is a winner.
Friday,
Dec. 12 – Friday mornings get busy with exercise class, women’s pool, and a painting/crafting
class at 9:30 a.m. Line dancing starts at 10:30 a.m. This is a good workout
that is fun while testing your coordination. At 12:00 noon the December
birthday pot-luck luncheon will be held. Come and join the fellowship and enjoy
the delicious food. Then stay for the afternoon and play canasta, other card
games, or pool and snooker. A jig saw puzzle is always out for some challenging
puzzle solving.

and duplicate bridge winning partners; Sandy Boepple and Marty Bullock, 1st;
