Coed Pool Tournament this week!

The City of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will hold an in-house coed pool tournament on Tuesday, October 18. Regular Center hours are: Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for music night. The facility is closed on weekends. Stop by 1015 E. 12th or call 747-8080 for more information and make sure to pick up an October calendar of events.

Monday, October 17 – Pool balls can be heard cracking as the women pool players challenge each other at the tables starting at 9:30 a.m. Also, oil painters get creative with their paints and brushes. Rubber Bridge, canasta, dominoes, and pool are among the afternoon activities that start at 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 18 – Come join the free Sit’n Be Fit exercise class at the Senior Center beginning at 9:30 a.m. This is a 45-minute workout where chairs are provided for each person. Some exercises are done while sitting and some are done while standing by a chair. Bouncing balls, hand weights, and stretch bands are incorporated in to the exercises for an extensive workout. Afternoon activities include games such as; duplicate bridge, Mexican Train dominoes, canasta, pitch, Skipbo, puzzle solving, and dominoes. A representative from Veteran’s Affairs comes in on Tuesdays, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. to help with any questions or paperwork you may have pertaining to veteran’s assistance. Also, at 1:00 p.m. an in-house coed pool tournament will be held.

Wednesday, October 19–The pool players get out their pool sticks again and Wii interactive games are also available for participation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Afternoon games that usually begin at 1:00 p.m. include; canasta, dominoes, Texas Hold’em, pitch, and puzzle solving. The movie, “Mao’s Last Dancer”, will be shown at 2pm.

Thursday, October 20 –Start the morning out by stretching those muscles with our Sit’n Be Fit exercise class that starts at 9:30 a.m. Then at 1:00 p.m. you can join in games of canasta, social bridge, pitch, dominoes, and puzzle solving. Bingo is played at 2:00 p.m. Doors reopen at 5:30 p.m. and Music Night begins at 6:00 p.m. with some good toe-tappin’ country tunes.

Friday, October 21 – The women get the pool balls racked up again at 9:30 a.m. and exchange some good times together. Exercise equipment, Wii, or a ping pong table is available for senior use. Afternoon games include; pool, canasta, dominoes, Texas Hold’em, and pitch. There is always a puzzle out that needs pieces added.

Last weeks winners of rubber bridge were: Orlean Hunter, 1st and J.W. Thomas, 2nd. Social bridge winners were: Ina Lee Ables, 1st; and Lynn Fent, 2nd. Duplicate bridge winners were Terry Miller and Camille Johnston, 1st; and Aye Gholson and Hattie Gholson, 2nd. Texas Hold’em winner for last week was Dollie McClary. Men’s pool tournament winner was Jack Ventris.
